Inspiration for 'Let It Be' song and music
The slow break up of the Beatles had unsettled Paul McCartney during the recording sessions for the 'Let It Be' album. The lyrics and gospel style music of 'Let It Be' was influenced by a dream that had come to McCartney. In the dream Paul McCartney's mother Mary was telling him that everything would be okay and things would work out fine regarding the break up of the Beatles. This inspired Paul McCartney to write the song 'Let It Be'.

The Beatles were impressed by the pop, rock & roll and rhythm & blues sounds they heard on American records from artists like Chuck berry, Buddy Holly and Little Richard. In their early days the Beatles adopted these styles which made them popular when they played in Hamburg, Germany.
Business man Brian Epstein heard the Beatles playing live in the cavern club in Liverpool. Brian Epstein became their manager after being impressed by the effect the Beatles had over their audience. In 1962 Brian Epstein got the Beatles a record contract with EMI records. Here they came under the wing of the musically talented record producer George Martin.
The Beatles broke the mould in the early sixties by writing their own songs. Previous to the Beatles record companies would find songs for artists via their publishing arm and the artist might not have much say in the material released. What set the Beatles apart was the incredible talent for writing incredibly original catchy songs. Also the amount of quality songs they wrote in a matter of a few years is staggering.
In the early years Paul McCartney and John Lennon were the chief songwriters who got the Beatles to the top of the UK and US charts. George Harrison's songwriting and lead guitar playing also became an integral part of the Beatles sound. Over the years Lennon and McCartney collaborated less and less till the eventual split of the Beatles.
They made their US debut in February 1964 on the Ed Sullivan show. The following year they went on to do the very successful rock & roll movie a 'A Hard Day's Night'. The film 'A Hard Day's Night' is in essence a documentary about the Beatles insular life on the road. The film made them popular with audiences young and old.
